Pastor Jacob McGhee
Senior Pastor
our Leaders and team
Born in Newark, NJ, to Robert and Caroline McGhee, Pastor Jake has been dedicated to ministry from a young age. As the youngest of nine children, he was known in his community of family and friends as "The See-er" due to his strong prophetic gift. At just 16 years old, he heard the voice of God declare that he would preach, pray, and prophesy—setting him on a lifelong path of spiritual impact.

His journey began in music and ministry training under Senior Pastor Apostle Robert Davis from 2002 to 2009. Gifted in music, he was awarded a full scholarship to Hampton University in 2004 but turned it down to fully pursue ministry. In 2008, he furthered his theological foundation by studying Biblical Studies and Theology at Essex County College.

On January 1, 2011, he met his future wife, Chelsea, at his brother’s wedding. Later that year, he relocated to Virginia and not long after, married her. From that Union, after waiting on God’s timing, they birthed a daughter, Quinn.

Stepping fully into his ministerial calling, Pastor Jake was ordained in 2013 under Bishop Orrin K. Pullings at United Nations International Church, after preaching his initial sermon in July of that year. His ministry reached beyond the church walls when he began preaching and teaching at the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center, where 132 children gave their lives to Christ.

In 2018, he founded Uncommon Church, a virtual ministry that started with ten dedicated members. His obedience and leadership in ministry led to a new chapter in 2025 when he accepted the role of Senior Pastor at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Committed to merging faith and entrepreneurship, Pastor Jake continues to empower individuals spiritually and practically, helping them walk in their divine purpose. His life’s work demonstrates that true success, is found in fulfilling God’s will.
